Not speaking Arabic is not a liability in Iraq. Given the literacy rate in the country before the first Gulf War (estimated at 90 - 95%) and the strong bi-lingual tradition of Saddam's secular regime, most Iraqis speak English. But even without English, one can communicate in innumerable ways: dancing, for instance.
