- There were no coins in Iraq. This is the only currency available before the invasion. It was essentially worth ten US cents per bill. The front image is clear, although one should note the striped 1970s style tie Saddam is wearing as the embodiment of secular Arab "financiality". The back of the bill features a monumental relief sculpture that depicts the various artistic and cultural activities of Iraqi life. This metal and stone wall is located north of the Tigris river, within walking distances of the digital print shop we used to print the New Years Eve protest banner.
