  GABE led the December 2002 delegation into Baghdad. He is a former publisher in Chicago and just moved to New York with Theresa. |
 HASSAN is the shoe shine boy in front of our hotel. His life is on the streets and he is now running errands for the US. At least he's alive.  SAF hung around the hotel and would play dominos with us across the street at a tea and hookah parlor that looked like a large greenhouse. Beautiful, believe me. |
  THERESA is a school teacher and partner to Gabe. She pulled out a finger puppet on the Iraq/Jordan border to distract the border police from stealing my money. |
