- Arige is the granddaughter of Noori -Al Rawi, painter and former television art critic. This was written and given to me as a present on the last day of my stay in Baghdad. Arige is 14 and has a scrapbook full of clippings regarding Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.
- After deliberating for some time I decided against telling her that Cruise and Kidman have been divorced for at least a year.
- Arige misspells her own name in this note. The correct spelling was given to me by Raed, her uncle, who she has never met. Raed lives in North Carolina.
